Detailed reply has been received in regard to the RTI Application filed with to Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Government of India for financial-year-wise details of all the funds allocated in budgetary, non-budgetary or the provisions otherwise for the purpose of advertisements of governmental plans / schemes of Government of India, with the concerned Name of the Ministry and / or Department of Government of India, Name of Plan / Scheme along with the details of expenditure at the end of financial-year or till date for the purpose of advertisements with details of their usage for advertisements in Print Media, Electronic Media, Others (Specify) and Total from date of the notification of the RTI Act, 2005 till date of disposal of this application, which was then transferred to Public Information Officer in the office of Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. MAIN POINTS OF REPLY: 1. Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity replied that they are having information related to Advertisements published in PRINT MEDIA, i.e. NEWSPAPERS only. 2. There was a total amount of Rs. 32, 73, 97, 64, 879 (approximately Rs. 3274 Crores) of Public Money has been spent merely on advertisements in NEWSPAPERS only by the Government of India from 2004-05 till June 2015 i.e. in last 10 years. 3. From Jan-Dec, 2004, Rs. 65.9 Crores were spent on advertisements in the NEWSPAPERS by the Government of India. 4. From Jan-Dec, 2005, Rs. 145.08 Crores were spent on advertisements in the NEWSPAPERS by the Government of India. 5. From Jan-Dec, 2006, Rs. 160.81 Crores were spent on advertisements in the NEWSPAPERS by the Government of India. 6. From Jan-Dec, 2007, Rs. 212.63 Crores were spent on advertisements in the NEWSPAPERS by the Government of India. 7. From Jan-Dec, 2008, Rs. 198.98 Crores were spent on advertisements in the NEWSPAPERS by the Government of India. 8. From Jan-Dec, 2009, Rs. 355.53 Crores were spent on advertisements in the NEWSPAPERS by the Government of India. 9. From Jan-Dec, 2010, Rs. 281.1 Crores were spent on advertisements in the NEWSPAPERS by the Government of India. 10. From Jan-Dec, 2011, Rs. 394.74 Crores were spent on advertisements in the NEWSPAPERS by the Government of India. 11. From Jan-Dec, 2012, Rs. 379.37 Crores were spent on advertisements in the NEWSPAPERS by the Government of India. 12. From Jan-Dec, 2013, Rs. 424.68 Crores were spent on advertisements in the NEWSPAPERS by the Government of India. 13. From Jan-Dec, 2014, Rs. 440.19 Crores were spent on advertisements in the NEWSPAPERS by the Government of India. 14.
