Sanskrit was never ever the language of the common people in ancient India, it was Pali, so that so, the former always remained a symbol of oppression by the so called high castes and priestly classes while the later represented the story of struggle of commoners and their saga of rebellion to fight the injustice in those times; so if some classic language actually needs preservation and due recognition then it only deserves to be Pali. #Kanwal
