-------------------------- 49 preachers as employed by the Dharam Parchar Committee of the SGPC are withdrawing a salary of more than Rs. 8 Lakhs - In a reply to RTI Information request filed by Prof. Kawaldeep Singh with SGPC -------------------------- As per the information received in a reply to an #RTI application filed by an engineering professor turned activist S. Kawaldeep Singh to the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, #SGPC, Amritsar, the 49 preachers as employed by the Dharam Parchar Committee of the SGPC are withdrawing a salary of more than Rs. 8 Lakhs, i.e. Rs. 8,18,207/-, per month as per the records of salary available for the month of November 2014, as provided. The highest salary out of all 49 is drawn by a preacher S. Sarwan Singh S/o S. Kashmir Singh of amount Rs. 54,085/- per month, as per the records available for the month of November 2014. #Note: Preachers are appointed by the SGPC to propagate the teachings of Sikhism, who do various tasks ranging from lecturing, sermons, stage-handling on many events and the other duties as assigned by the SGPC time-to-time related to their main task of preaching the Sikh faith.
